Workshop & Webcast on Revised (Phase 1 & 2)
WEEE Program Plan Development
Register
Ontario Electronic Stewardship is conducting a public consultation session pertaining to the ongoing development of Ontario’s Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Program. This consultation workshop and webcast will address program planning for designated Phase 2 WEEE materials, as well as possible changes that may impact the approved Phase 1 Program Plan.
The consultation workshop and webcast will take place on Wednesday, February 4, 2009, from 9 am to noon (approx.), in Toronto, Ontario. See below for or details on how to register and attend.
Program Background
On July 9, 2008, Ontario’s Minister of the Environment, the Hon. John Gerretsen approved the waste diversion program plan for Phase 1 WEEE materials. The Minister’s approval initiated work toward implementation of the Phase 1 WEEE Program Plan, as well as the development of a program plan for Phase 2 WEEE materials, as required in the Minister’s 2007 “Program Request Letter.” A revised Program Plan for Phase 1 and Phase 2 WEEE materials is due to be submitted to the Minister on July 10, 2009.
Ontario Electronic Stewardship (OES) is the Industry Funding Organization that was designated by Waste Diversion Ontario to develop the program plan for WEEE. OES is hosting this consultation to provide information about Phase 2 program plan development and to solicit the input of key stakeholders to this process.
