How to Connect to the Consultation Webcast on
Stewardship Program for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment
Friday, October 12
9:30 a.m. to 12 noon (approximate)
If you plan to attend the Consultation Meeting on the Stewardship Program for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment by webcast, you will need a computer with speakers, access to the internet and if possible, a high speed connection. We recommend that you test your speakers prior to the webcast to ensure that you have sound. If you are using a laptop, external speakers or headphones will enhance the sound quality. Some servers limit the ability to broadcast sound and you may need to request assistance from your IT administrator.

Please note: although you may have registered already with Ontario Electronic Stewardship, this URL takes you into a secure connection where you will need to complete the required fields to register with the webcast host (CNW) to enter the site. Click OKAY to proceed to a sign-in form that enables you to access the webcast opening page. You can complete the sign-in form prior to the webcast then enter your email address to re-enter the site at the time before or during the webcast.
Launching the Webcast
You can access the workshop webcast beginning at 9:15 a.m. We encourage you to link in at this time to launch the slides. Please remember to turn on your computer sound.
You will be asked to choose a “player” to display the slides (either Windows Media or Real Player), then click LAUNCH PRESENTATION to load the slides. If you login before 9:15 a.m. you will see the title slide but the slides will only advance when the webcast begins.
If the slide console fails to open, it might be because your firewall and/or pop-up blocker is activated. Disable these systems for the duration of the webcast.
The speakers change the slides as they go, so you will be unable to move them forward or backward during the presentation. You are able to increase the size of the slides by clicking on the “Enlarge Slide” button at the top left of the console. To exit this view and return to the ‘normal’ view you will need to close the window.
The slides and the webcast (including sound) will be available to review at your convenience at a later date.
Technical Problems
If you have technical problems once the webcast is in progress, you may click on the “help” button on the left of the console to request assistance and you will receive a prompt response from the webcast team. Please also feel free to email technical questions directly to CNW at webcast@newswire.ca.
