Revised (phased 1 and 2) Program Plan

Under development for almost a year, the Final Revised (Phase 1 and 2) WEEE Program Plan documents were approved by the Minister of the Environment on August 14, 2009.

The Final Revised (Phase 1 and 2) Program Plan officially replaced the Final Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Program Plan (“Phase 1 Plan”) on April 1, 2010. Products accepted more than doubled in the Phase 1 and 2 Plan and now total 44 (up from 20 in Phase 1). Revisions came from the following sources:

  1. The first phase of WEEE materials, as scheduled in the Minister’s Program Request Letter; and,
  2. The second phase of WEEE materials, as scheduled in the Minister’s Program Request Letter; and,
  3. New information gathered since publication of the Phase 1 Plan.

The Final Revised Program Plan also provides new collection options and increased flexibility for stewards and service providers alike.

Phase 1 Program Plan
