Next member meeting:
To be announced

In 2010, OES created a WEEE Stakeholder Forum to establish regular dialogue with OES Service Providers in the development and implementation of various changes to the program.

Since then, a group of Collectors, Processors and Reuse/Refurbishment Organizations have taken part in regular meetings to address key issues and establish new protocols and procedures that work for the benefit of Service Providers, Affiliates and the program as a whole .

Issues

The Stakeholder Forum was designed to solicit input and feedback on planned changes that were outlined in Bits & Bytes Issue 86 (September 1, 2010). Today, the Stakeholder Forum meetings provide an excellent opportunity to discuss new issues as they arise, to develop and test solutions and jointly solve problems in a way that beneifts all parties.

Membership

The Terms of Reference of the Stakeholder Forum specifies its composition which includes:

  • six OES-Approved Collectors
  • representatives from each approved Processor
  • representatives of each approved Reuse and Refurbishment organization.

As new Processors and Reuse and Refurbishment organizations are approved, they are invited to participate in these meetings. To view the list of members, please click on the Terms of Reference above.

Meetings

The group met six times between September and December 2010 and again in mid January 2011. Additional meetings will be convened as needed in 2011. Some of the topics addressed to date include communications for Service Providers and fine-tuning the Processor Incentive (PI) program. This group will report on key initiatives as needed in Bits and Bytes e-news.
