Meeting Notice: Information Session on May 6th for Stewards and Remitters Under Ontario's Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Program – How to file your monthly Steward/Remitter Report.

Stewards are required to file their first monthly Steward’s Reports on or before May 30, 2009. This meeting will provide information to enable Stewards to file these reports. Please register online to attend.

Who Should Attend
This event is designed to provide information on how to file a monthly Steward/Remitter Report for Phase 1 Electronic and Electrical Equipment (EEE) supplied for use in Ontario. For more information about the Phase 1 materials that are designated under Ontario’s WEEE program click on: Designated Materials. To determine if your company is likely to be an obligated Steward under Phase 1, click on: WEEE Guidebook 1 and the Rules.

In preparation for filing Steward's Reports and to provide a program update for Phase 1 Stewards, Ontario Electronic Stewardship (OES) is hosting an internet-only information session for Stewards on Wednesday, May 6. OES is the industry funding organization with responsibility to develop and prepare for implementation of Ontario’s WEEE waste diversion program plan.

Preliminary Agenda
This session will provide information on the following topics:

  • Overview of OES Reporting System  
  • Reporting and payment timelines
  • How to complete Steward’s Reports
  • Remitter’s process including Remitter’s Agreements and Remitter’s Reports
  • Questions and answers.

Only those who have registered will receive the detailed information on how to participate, which will be sent to you the day before the event.  Please register as soon as possible to signal your intention to attend this meeting.

Under the WEEE Program
As of April 1st, 2009, Stewards of Phase 1 WEEE are  required to track the amount of
Phase 1 EEE that they supply for use in Ontario.  This first Steward's Report will detail the Phase 1 EEE that each Steward supplied for use in Ontario during the first data period, from April 1 to April 30, 2009. This initiates a monthly reporting and payment cycle which will continue for Stewards of EEE.
