OES held an information session on May 6 to help Stewards and Remitters with filing their reports as well as to provide a Phase 1 program update. Stewards and Remitters are required to file their first monthly Steward’s/Remitter's Reports and remit fees to OES on or before May 30, 2009.

Municipal WEEE Collection Sites

OES held an information session on February 26, 2009 for municipalities who have have submitted an application to register as a WEEE collection site, or have begun the process to do so. Among the items discussed:
- site approval process
- collection site terms and conditions
- items accepted in the WEEE program
- transportation logistics
- sorting, storage and packaging requirements
- running a WEEE collection event
- promotion and education.

OES held an information session on February 26, 2009 for municipalities who have indicated on the WDO Datacall that it has collected WEEE in the past. Among the items discussed:
- detailed outline of WEEE program for municipal perspective
- items accepted in the WEEE program
- how to register as a WEEE collection site
- promotion and education
- questions and answers.
Phase 1 Allocation and Primary Processor Application
OES held a second briefing meeting for potential recyclers of WEEE on October 20, 2008. This webinar meeting addressed:
- Electronics Recycling Standard (ERS) requirements, and application
- approval process and allocation of WEEE to approved processors.
There was also a review of material provided in the first briefing meeting.
